REPORTS TO: Director of Development, West Coast
JOB SUMMARY AND DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK:
The Senior Strategy Analyst will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area (hybrid) and will report to the West Coast Director of Development. The Senior Analyst will oversee qualitative analysis and presentation production for our current analytics team. The role will lead work related to large-scale masterplans in the pre-development phase throughout the Bay Area. The role will need to develop and implement reporting processes, ideate and create graphics and templates from scratch, provide quality review of analyses and materials. The Senior Analyst will need to synthesize and review pro forma and other financial modeling exercises in a fast-paced, client focused environment. The Senior Analyst should have a strong understanding of market research, including identifying and collecting necessary data. Strong experience and/or understanding of real estate deal structuring is a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
We are seeking a Senior Strategy Analyst to join our Development team. This role is ideal for a highly capable and analytical real estate professional with 5-8 years of experience in a development, market research or acquisition role.
Knowledge of residential and master-plan projects preferred.
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Synthesize financial model results and provide feedback on modeling processes and outputs.
Direct the creation of presentation materials with a clear understanding of organizational and stakeholder goals, including executive and non-financial stakeholders. Materials include decks and memos and may require developing formats and graphics from scratch
Conduct and present market research, including quarterly and monthly reports. Comfort using raw data, as well as established industry
Develop executive-level communications and strategy materials and coordinate strategic initiatives for leadership
Work in collaboration with the team on each project
Develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, clients and others as required for the job
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of:
Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis skills and ability to think strategically about presenting results and outputs
Strong market research skills, experience with Costar and other real estate research tools a plus.
Strong written and presentation skills
Strong understanding of underwriting, entitlements, and housing and economic development policy
Pro forma analysis, development underwriting, knowledge of the design/development process.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Google equivalents.
