The Workflow Maps section of the Multifamily Innovation Lab is designed to enable clear, side-by-side comparison of multifamily technology companies and their features. Workflow Maps are grounded in a detailed breakdown of core operational functions, providing a structured view of how technology supports real-world execution.
Each map prioritizes features using proprietary user profiles—Baseline, Professional, and Innovator—to highlight which capabilities different types of users should focus on based on their operational maturity, resources, and objectives. This approach helps stakeholders quickly identify not only what a solution offers, but who it is best suited for.
Workflow Maps are organized across key functional areas, including Leasing, Accounting, Tenant Experience, Operations & Property Management (OPM), Asset Management, ESG, and Acquisitions & Due Diligence.
Every Workflow Map is built around a specific workflow function. For each function, the map identifies the full range of tasks or actions required for successful execution and aligns those tasks with the technology features available in the market. Features are then categorized and prioritized according to the Baseline, Professional, and Innovator user profiles. A detailed explanation of these profiles is available in the article “Understanding User Profiles.”
The goal of each Workflow Map is to provide a consistent, practical framework for comparing technology solutions while clarifying customer fit, enabling stakeholders to evaluate not just feature depth, but operational relevance and readiness.
